It has been a long time since I blogged! ME! the blogger Nazi! Oh well right. Just means my life is mundane and boring!

BUT... we had Halloween! Which means Pumpkins Patches and Pumpkin Carving, Treats and a Birthday!

We have been visiting the same pumpkin patch since we moved here 4 years ago. It is so fun to see how Michaella grows from year to year. She is still terrified of climbing up the bouncy slide after 4 years.... but she at least looks different. Each year they are adding activities to the farm, and every year it gets busier and busier. But I will go every year and make Michaella get a picture with me until she is 18... yes 18. Just you wait and see. I'll drag her if I have to. I'll 3rd wheel on her dates when they decide to go through the maize! I'll be right there... I might even make her ride the kiddie train! Because that is the kind of Mom I am!

I love that Michaella is learning all her cute new songs at school. It just warms my heart to listen to her. I have her sing over and over! I'm so glad that she enjoys music the way I do! And I have no clue where she got her expressiveness!?!? :)

First Day of School

Do I even need to say more??? My Baby girl started school. My life is over!!! :) I'm SO proud of her. What a glorious moment for a momma. Michaella asked me "Mommy why do you have a frog in your throat?" I told her it was because I was SO happy.

She was complaining because the sun was in her eyes... So this is what we got. Not her best look.

This was the first day of dropping her off at Kindergarten and her being there all by herself. We got there and she was nearly dragging me. She got there, dropped her backpack and hurriedly gave me a kiss and said "Bye Mom" running to the toys. That about killed me. But then....

This was her look as I walked off. So she screamed "MOM!" with a concerned look "bye mom". And I knew she still needed me. Phew!

This was Michaella's first time ever out on a boat. Well other than Daddy's pontoon. And she LOVED it. She said "Mom I want Josh to go faster and never stop!"

Really this video is me... I'm going to fire the videographer... but it's me. Sorry Mom. But I have to publish this one way or the other for evidence.

This was my very first time wakeboarding. Yes I got up on my first time. I didn't know this was a truly amazing feat, but I think it's because I'm like totally buff and I have some serious guns. So you better watch out because you don't want to mess with Mrs T, if you know what I mean.

I finally moved Michaella out of the toddler bed and into a "Big Girl Bed". She was so excited and she has done so well staying in her room and making it through the night with out having to go to the bathroom. I wish I would have done it sooner!

Willow has been an excellent addition to our family. Yes, I know now the humans are outnumbered but we still love it. I know this post won't be the most exciting for all, but she is an amazing dog and probably our smartest yet. Attached is a video of her retrieving from the water at 10 weeks. As you all must know... Michaella loves the Jonas Brothers. And the good ol JB came to NAMPA ID of all places. So months ago I did everything I could to get tickets and keep it a suprise from Michaella. She had NO clue! She didn't figure it out until they starting singing. She just calmly turns to me and says "I am going to HAVE to tell the kids at school about this" then averts her attention right back. Mike did come...evidence below.... but he only lasted about a 1/2 hr. And we planned for that. After he left Michaella let loose and got her Jonas Brother's on! See video.

The First part of June we took a little trip over to Idaho Falls for my Grandpa's 80th birthday party... it was cold and wet but it was well worth it. Here are pictures of Michaella with her Grandma and Grandpa Great and also with her 2nd cousin, Ethan. She fit right it even though she hadn't met most of the family before.

Our Next favorite part of July is Snake River Dayz and the Stampede Rodeo. This year we also made it over to the Farmer's Market and to a Movie under the Stars. It was Hotel for Dogs and had a whole Dog theme and Activities for kids, it was a lot of fun.

Well, to start things off.... thank goodness for warmer weather! First time we possibly could we drag out the good ol snap set bright pink Little Mermaid pool we did! I was able to capture something I see daily but have never captured on film to embarrass her late in life. It may have something to do with dance pictures earlier in the day and the makeup and hair, but seriously, this is not her first rodeo with the whole diva thing....check out the vid to see what I mean.

Over Memorial Day weekend we brought home Willow... Now it's been over a week. Let me tell you about this new canine member. She likes to eat... no she LOVES to eat. She is like Chuck on the Goonies. She is that fat kid with a candy bar in their mouth yelling out at every one else while lagging behind "Hey Guys wait up for me". We have 2 concrete front steps on our front porch and her belly is always so full that she puts her two front feet on the step and then rocks until she can hoist her rear end up. When the food has depleted out of her bowl she will sit there and whine. Poor Winston can barely vie for his own nourishment! When I hold Willow to allow him to eat she will fight me pushing against me with all her might while whining to get away and get back to that delicious dog gourmet.

Anyway... our house is full of dogs. Yes we are crazy.

Summer time and slip in slides go hand in hand. So once given the opportunity to give my daughter the experience of just that... I jumped on it. 9.99 and a whole lot-a joy.

Still while on our wonderful 4 day Memorial Day weekend we needed to make a trip fishing... it's protocol. So we packed up drove a couple hours away... got out of the car, hiked down the steep hill (Mike always has to pick the most obscure spots to fish) nearly having to repel, got comfortable, Mike got suited up, flies tied. Then he casts... once, twice... snap! Fishing rod breaks... so what else to do but go back home... lovely. But Willow got the chance to swim!
Michaella quite loves Willow. Here she is with a barrette in her hair. A while later Mike picks up Willow and asks me if she has gotten a bath because she smell so good. Nope! Michaella informs us she sprayed her hair with detangler so she could comb it. She may have a future in dog grooming.
As girly as Michaella is, here she is with a worm in her hand! Which reminds me. The other day I look at Michaella on my bathroom floor and she's chewing with a bit of exaggeration. So I ask her "Kaella, what cha doin?" Kaella- "Eating an ant." Me- "Are you kidding me?" Kaella-" No Daddy told me I can eat them, so I eat them all the time and I share them with my friends. They are kind of crunchy" .........thanks DAD.

So this last weekend was big Michaella's Dance recital Weekend. It's a kind of a big deal! My Parents came up and it is always nice to have them around. Michaella loves her Papa and Grandma!

Mike was at the recital, he deserves that credit! He left during intermission and came home and cooked us all ribs. Mike honestly has the best ribs you will ever eat. It would even be worth the trip to Nampa just to have them...hint hint any one.

I know I have one very wonderful human child and she is my whole world. But I also like to supplement my love with puppy love. This Mother's Day my human offspring and I went and picked out our new canine offspring! Meet Willow-

Oh yeah and really it's Mike's Dog. So he is in charge of all the training (I hope this includes the potty training aspect, oh and the chewing thing)
Hopefully she will give Lucy a run for her money in Duck hunting!

Well, I need to start from the beginning... We have this lovely English Pointer, Daisy. And she has more energy then any of us knows what to do with. Therefore she needs exercise and more than a little walk. So Darling Husband came up with this ingenious idea to have Daisy run next to the car as he drives 10-15 miles an hour. The first time he tried this it worked well. She was much more subdued and calm. Although I had my reservations about making a poor dog run 15 miles an hour, we thought we had come up with the solution.

Last night Darling Husband decides to give it another go. He loads Daisy up in the car and drives down the road to an area where there aren't houses or traffic. As she is running she starts to slow down. DH continues to push her thinking she is just being a butt head. But once he got home he realized what he had done. Her poor pads were bleeding. This morning as she wouldn't walk because it hurt so bad, the guilt set in. Had he only known what this would do, he wouldn't have done it. So Daisy got the star treatment and was left on the back deck with a blanket instead of the cemented dog run.

Out the door I go this morning headed to work. I walk up to my car door and what is smeared all down the side of it, but BLOOD! Lovely. I open the car door and inside what is everywhere on the upholstery? Lots of bloody dog prints. Lovely. After a phone call to DH discussing the frustration of blood all over on the inside of my car... I continue my journey down the freeway.

I was about 10 minutes from work when out of the corner of my eye, I see fire. I see fire in the lap of the man driving the car next to me; a second look and it wasn't there anymore. NOW, I'm not going crazy...this isn't the first time this baffling mystery had happened to me. I had seen this about a year or two ago. Same car, same driver. When it happened back then I followed that car to see the fire come and disappear a few times, only with the driver not flinching at all. I'm pretty sure this guy is a prankster. So this morning once again I want to figure this thing out. So with the driver in front of me I decided I wanted to get up next to him on the side... So I speed up a little (not too much as I'm in a construction zone) to be able to change lanes to the right of me. As I'm doing so what do I see but I different kind of Light... those red and blue ones in my rear view mirror.

I had been pulled over for following the car in front of me too closely. As he is explaining how he used his laser to measure the distance between my car and the car in front of me he notices... the BLOOD!

"Ma'am? Are you Okay?" In my head I'm thinking "wow, how am I going to explain this with out making DH look like a total animal abuser? or better yet with out him assuming I've killed somebody in my car and there might be a body in my trunk." I did my best but he still had his reservations that required him to ask one more time "Are you sure?" I responded with a positive yes. So back he goes to write my ticket.... YAY me!

Wait for it... it get's better

After what seemed like forever Office comes back. "Ma'am don't be alarmed. Some prankster on his cell phone called in and said the car I pulled over contained a man who jumped out and pointed a gun at me. So there might be a bunch of cars come sliding in here, but I've called them off." WOW.

So let's just think this through... Let's think about a possible scenario. Here I am driving along, getting pulled over, Blood ALL over in and on my car, possibly carrying a gun with which I am going to pull out and point at an officer. I'm face planted in the cement with my hands behind my back and cuffs around my wrist, trying to talk my way out of a misunderstanding.

And after all of that... I still got the ticket.

Quadromom/dad

You know when you have a family that has like 10 kids they can't afford and you find out they are pregnant again? And you roll your eyes and say "They are pregnant AGAIN??"

Well that's us... only with dogs. We are like quadrodoggymom and quadrodoggydad. Because yes, we are getting another dog! (this will make four ......hence the quad... sorry I'm erring on the side of stupidity)

You see there is a good reason. ( well other than the fact that we are dog loving freaks and will most likely end up with a dozen dogs one day...either that or we have got to have another baby! why is it so much easier to take the leap and get another dog than it is to have another child? ) Lucy, as much as we love her, is slowing down. She only has probably 1 or maybe 2 hunting seasons left. She made this very apparent the other day when there were ducks in the next door neighbors back yard and she didn't even see them. Mike had to physically point her head towards the ducks to get her to realize it. Then off she went when they had already saw her! Mike swears she is the best hunting dog ever and he feels she needs to train another dog and/or have one trained before she dies(we are totally dreading that idea). Therefore with most pups needing to be a year old to really hunt that puts us in a time crunch. Oh and if your wondering; Daisy is a pointer and she wouldn't retrieve if her life depended on it. If you could get her to put a duck in her mouth she would just run around with it in circles until she ran out of energy... which would be never.

We have found what we believe will not only be an excellent hunter but also a wonderful addition to our family. SHE will be a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Chocolate Lab mix. They are only a week old so we have to wait 5 more weeks for her to come home. We haven't gone to pick her out yet so I don't have a specific picture. We are very excited. I KNOW we are crazy dog people (instead of crazy cat lady; you know...ha ha- once again erring on the side of stupidity)

Can you spot the bad mole?

I was SO luckily born with a massive amount of moles. I like to call them chocolate chips. Or even my transportable dot to dot game. The following describes me to a T.-

FAMMM syndrome

An inherited condition marked by the following: (1) one or more first- or second-degree relatives (parent, sibling, child, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, or uncle) with malignant melanoma; (2) many moles, some of which are atypical (asymmetrical, raised, and/or different shades of tan, brown, black, or red) and often of different sizes; and (3) moles that have specific features when examined under a microscope. FAMMM syndrome increases the risk of melanoma and may increase the risk of pancreatic cancer. Also called familial atypical multiple mole melanoma syndrome.

Well with all of the odds stacked against me I guess I better watch out what I do to my skin. As a teenager as I would spend hours in the tanning bed I would just tell myself "oh they will have a cure by the time I get old enough to get cancer". Well guess what people I'm old enough and NO cure. After removing 17 moles I've already had numerous "Atypical Nevus" one of which was severe, meaning 1 step away from melanoma.

So it is my personal duty to inform others of the importance of taking care of our skin. YES I know that beautiful glow of a nice dark tan can make you feel great and feel skinny, but it isn't worth it.

WATCH SUSPICIOUS MOLES
GET SCREENINGS IF YOU HAVE MOLES

While getting our pedi's Michaella was looking through the hair style books. She decided she wanted to have a colored stripe and she wanted to style her hair. She had some pretty crazy cutting ideas but I went ahead and got some temp hair stuff and then 3 barrel curled her hair. This girl was in heaven.

Today was SUCH a beautiful day. I couldn't ask for better weather. I wanted so badly to do something outside. And Olivia and her family asked if Michaella wanted to go to the park and feed the ducks so I tagged along. The girls had so much fun. The ducks didn't really care much to be fed. It isn't anything like Layton park where the ducks maul you as soon as they see a bread sack.

So we spent the majority of the time on the toys. But seriously isn't that what a park is all about on a beautiful perfect Sunday?

Our Day with Logen

My Coworker's son Logen came and stayed with us Saturday while she went to Jackpot, NV. We really had a great time.

We got out the sidewalk chalk. Mike will probably freakout about having a dirty sidewalk... but who cares! It is too much fun. Logen LOVED the dogs. When one of them wasn't around he would always want me to go get them. He really wanted one to sleep in bed with him but it just didn't work out. They are too used to sleeping with us.

It was such a beautiful day. It was warm enough that Michaella and Logen were able to have a little bit of a water fight outside.

Michaella was so glad to have someone to play with! Poor child has to entertain herself most of the time, and I'm sorry I don't really want to play Dora Candyland all the time. And the odd thing is, Michaella has a knack of winning every single time. No wonder she loves to play it.
Logen asked Mike to show him some stars with his telescope. Michael was so nice and patient and he showed them Saturn and the Moon. Logen really loved it.

Bed time and brushing teeth. Two sinks came in very handy.
We had puffy french toast for breakfast. I had two very helpful kids.
We really had a great time. I suffered slightly. Boys are a little different than girls if you haven't noticed. So it was rough housing instead of playing house. But in the end it was all good! (and quiet) :)

It's been awhile since I actually blogged about us. Life is same ol' same ol'. You get up you go to work you come home. But that is life...right? We are all ready for the weather to warm up. And I'm not talking about that one 70* day that teases us into thinking spring is here. Old man weather has thrown in a couple of those the last 2 weeks... he sure is cruel.

So here are a few pictures from one of those days.

Michaella and I bought a 1 dollar Hannah Montana kite. It's nice to know it's the small things that make us so happy.

Then we went for a walk. More of a leisurely stroll actually. Michaella is just barely figuring out the trike and she isn't exaclty Evil Kenevil.

It was Winston's first official walk too. He wasn't too fond of doing all the walking. But I wasn't about to carry him, that would have been a little counter productive don't you think?

See this is much better... Winston will let other people do the work.

Winston is looking at me like "Why the heck do YOU get to ride?"

Hopefully in the next couple weeks I will actually have some activities to blog about. We have a couple of fun filled weekends coming up.

This weekend while watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition because there wasn't much else to watch I saw something that inspired me. The family lost their home in a flood. But what really got me was the volunteer work that the mother of the family did. She ran a service called Tiny Works of Heart. She took photographs of babies who were not going to live.

I wanted to research this further. I was able to find out she is part of a non profit organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep .

Here is there About section-

Pregnancy and birth are miraculous journeys. This amazing time of life is full of mystery, anticipation, joy, hope, and wonder. Feeling the powerful energy of birth and new life, watching as a new family is born unto each other. These things humble and amaze. These are the things that we celebrate when a baby is born.

But there is another aspect of pregnancy and birth. There is an unexpected place in this journey where some families may find themselves. When a baby dies, a world is turned upside down.

There is confusion, sadness, fear, and uncertainty that cannot be explained. There is sorrow where there should have been joy. During this time, it might be impossible for families to know what they might need in order to heal in the future.

This is the place where the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives.

The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) administers a network of almost 6,000 volunteer photographers in the United States and twenty-five international countries. At a family's request, a NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer will come to your hospital or hospice location and conduct a sensitive and private portrait session. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the families on an archival DVD or CD that can be used to print portraits of their cherished baby.

Our entire network of affiliated photographers graciously donate their time and talents to our families and we are proud to be able to offer our services at no cost.Your Donations are greatly needed and greatly appreciated.

I want to somehow do something in my life that is meaningful as this. WOW. As a mother I cannot thing of something more precious in such a difficult time. I think this is such a wonderful organization and I hope that with my little blog maybe someone who loses their sweet angel can have this opportunity. I also hope that those who know photographers can pass on this information because they are always taking volunteers. I tell you what if I had the equipment and the time I would most definitely be participating.

Webster FAMILY Blog

It would be grossly unfair for me to call this a Webster Family Blog when the majority of it is a Tiffani & Michaella Blog. So to be completely fair here is a blog about the Male in our house hold. That's right not many of you know to much about him (because he is a hermit) he is my Husband and Michaella's Daddy... Michael John Webster.

Michael's favorite thing in the world is Duck Hunting. This lasts from Mid-October to Mid- January. This year he bagged over 100 ducks and he ate most all of those. Some he jerkied some he cooked up. I'm not a big fan of the stuff but this blog isn't about me. His duck jerky is a big hit at both his place of employment and mine. One day maybe if any of you are extra lucky you will get to try it.

Not only does Mike love hunting but Lucy loves hunting. And Michael loves Lucy. She is 7 years old and Michael is already stressing over what he will do when she dies. He loves that dog. And he swears she is the best hunting dog ever. I weeded through all the hunting pictures this year and 95% of them were all Lucy.

Since Duck hunting is now over he will move on to his next hobby. Michael does the best at everything he puts his mind to. He loves astrology (I'll have to post pictures when he gets out this summer). He loves fishing which as soon as spring comes around we will do plenty of. But right now he has found a new hobby...Genealogy. He has been working on his Grandpa Webster's side and has already found 700 relatives going back as far as 1532. And this is just stemming from his Great Grandpa Golden "J" Webster. Mike is a 5th generation John. His Dad is Jeffrey John his Grandfather John Elliot, Golden "J" and then John Alfred. But with all this work he has found that his name John goes back even further back centuries and generations. He is really loving it. I will have to do a post just on some of the stuff he has found like original pictures, passports and census reports.

Anyway. Michael is a great and wonderful Daddy and Husband and this blog is about what he likes.

I saw this saying on a t-shirt and it hit me as to how far this country has come in the last 53 years since Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of the bus. Although discrimination still exists it really is awe inspiring as to the fact that we just elected our first African-American president.

Yesterday while reviewing her day as we usually do once I get home from work I took the opportunity to have open dialogue with Michaella regarding Martin Luther King Jr. and the importance of this inauguration. It is really quite difficult to explain discrimination to a 4 year old. They can’t comprehend the reality of hate in the way it has been exercised in the past by human beings.
Our children don’t understand why a person with dark skin could be treated cruelly. In fact I went further to discuss the Holocaust a little with Michaella. I spoke of the Hitlers desire to rid the world of people who were not White with certain religious views and the horror of concentration camps. Michaella decided she wanted to go camping because she had never been before... Our children are so innocent.

I’m sure Rosa Parks had no inclination as to how much an impact she would have on the American Race, nor did Martin Luther King Jr. know how he would change the face of the future. We can only imagine how Barack Obama will change the outcome of our children. Let us pray that one day the discrimination will vanish. We still have so far to go. That is why I am so excited by this new Presidency.

Now I’m going to surprise many of you with my political opinions but... I am not a steadfast republican. In fact I think I sit right in the middle. I try my hardest to be unbiased and nonpartisan but, I’m actually little too left winged to be comfortable in a strongly right-winged community.

I actually didn’t Vote for Obama and not just because his political party nor his race, but at the time I didn’t agree with his economic platform. Being that this was my main concern it was something I paid strong attention to. I felt John McCain was the lesser of 2 evils on economic issues. But now I am very glad Barack Obama is going to be our Commander and Chief. #1 he has retracted his proposal to increase taxes based on the facts he has been given and #2 we need someone like him.

A tired John McCain could have never rallied America like Barack Obama has. Obama’s youth and enthusiasm is our spark. He has the motivation to reenergize this tiring nation. We all need to remember our freedoms and how lucky we are to be Americans. And seeing a black man in the White House has helped me realize my fortune to be in this Great Nation. Let us hope for continued progress and change. “Yes we can!”

A novel of a Webster Family Christmasish period of time

A long time ago in a far away place in the year Two Thousand and Eight there was such a thing as Christmas time in the Michael Websters Household.

Michaella's Dance recital was December 12th. I love sharing this experience with Michaella as it was something I also enjoyed as a child.

Christmas Eve of course we had to make cookies for Santa. So we suited up with the lovely matching Mommy-Daughter aprons that Dal's wife handed down to us. (I work with Dal he is the Company Truck Driver and his wife is awesome!)

I won't bore you with the 1 million pictures of Michaella opening presents. Because really they all look the same. Flying wrapping paper all kind of looking the same and Michaella with her hair in front of her face because it was of course Christmas morning. Okay fine here's one. The smile is extra big because it's Hannah Montana! (Thanks cousin Jett!)
We left for Utah the day after Christmas because the weather was so yucky. It still took us 7 1/2 hrs to get there because there was still snow on the roads and we had to detour through Pocatello. Once there we were able to do Christmas with my family.

Meg and Steven came up for New Years and we had an awesome time. It was SO wonderful having them here. On New Years day Mike & Steve went hunting and we girls went sledding! We had a BLAST. Thanks Megan for coming with us!

When I drove home from Utah I thought that it would be awhile before I came back. Well little didn't I know that I would be back that next week. Nor Did I know that I would win tickets to Walking with Dinosaurs. It was very exciting because I had wanted to take Michaella badly and I didn't want to pay the at least 30 dollar a ticket price so I entered every contest I could to win tickets and we did! So the night before we headed back to Utah we took Olivia & Amber and we went and saw Dinosaurs!

The reason we drove back was so that Michaella & I could attend my Grandfathers funeral. It was truly a great experience. We were able to see people we hadn't seen in 10 years (well Michaella got to meet them). I have a wonderful family and I had forget how much fun it is to be around them.

The day we got To Vernal we had a chance to go to the Dinosaur Museum with my Cousins Allise & Angie (John) and their kids. It was a perfect addition to the Walking with Dinosaurs show. Now this museum has changed A LOT since I was a kid and not just the location. We really had a great time. If you ever are going through Vernal (I know chances are slim) you should all stop in.

And I don't know if this is weird or not but I'll post a few pictures from my Grandfathers Funeral. (I'll spare everyone his picture in the casket) It was a cold day but it was so bright and shiny. And my cousins all looked so handsome and strong. They had to split up the group of pallbearers because there are so many Grandsons.My Grandparents left such a legacy of 6 Children 25 Grandchildren, 38 Great grandchildren and 4 more on the way. Our family took up half the chapel! All but 3 Grandchildren were able to make it to the funeral. All 38 Grandchildren have been born since my Grandmothers passing just short of 10 years ago. Her first Great Grandchild, Cole, was born 2 days after she died. And the Youngest Great grandchild Katie was just a couple month old. It is a true example of the circle of life.

Now Grandpa O'Neil is with his sweetheart whom he was without for a period of time.

His casket was so beautiful. To those of you reading this last line. WHOA I can't believe you read this whole thing! I even left out a couple small events!

This past weekend I was able to travel to Vernal, UT and celebrate my Grandfathers life. He was 90 years old and he lived a very successful life. The following is an article in the Deseret News about my Grandpa O'Neil that I thought I would share. I will hopefully find time soon to update with pictures. I haven't even got Christmas on here.

Just an interesting little tidbit. My Grandfather attended Davis High School as many of my fellow bloggers have. He Graduated in 1936. He also remembered delivering the news paper to The Webster's in the old farm house. He possibly delivered to Great Great Relatives.

When 11-year-old Brian O'Neil started delivering newspapers in 1929, little did he realize what he'd started.
Not until 1986, with just one timeout for World War II, would he stop — and at that, he kept the "route" in the family, transferring the duties first to his son, Kelly, and later to Kelly's son, Shannon.
All this was recounted in detail, seasoned with much humor and nostalgia, at funeral services that honored Mr. O'Neil this past weekend in Vernal.
The man's 90 years on Earth were remembered for many accomplishments, including a posterity approaching 100 direct descendents, a lifetime of church and community service, and of course the war years, when he served in the U.S. Navy and met a fellow sailor who outranked him named Dorothy, a lieutenant who became his wife.
But over, under, around and through it all was an uncanny habit of getting up early in the morning to make sure one Salt Lake newspaper or another made it to its destination on time.
O'Neil began delivering the Salt Lake Telegram on his bike when he was 11, just in time to let residents of Kaysville know Wall Street had fallen.
He kept pedaling through the Depression, making money despite the hard times, later switching to the Salt Lake Tribune.
After World War II, he and his new bride moved to Vernal and Brian accepted a position as distributor of the Tribune to the Uintah-Duchesne territory in northeastern Utah. Now, instead of one paper route, he was responsible for distributing thousands of newspapers to the various carriers throughout the region.
In the early 1960s, after the Telegram folded, he added the Deseret News to the lineup.
It is inestimable how many porches got their papers because of Brian O'Neil.
Brian O'Neil's obituary caught my eye last week when it ran in the newspaper — appropriately in both the Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune — as much for what it said about the future of newspapering as about the past.
Few 11-year-old boys, or girls, strap newspaper bags to their bicycles any more. And fewer and fewer adult distributors are left to mentor those boys and girls.
"Dad raised us with the newspaper," remembered Kelly O'Neil, the son who would inherit the family distributorship. "That's how he taught us to work and to manage our money."
In his father's personal journal that Kelly shared with me, a young Brian wrote this of his early days delivering papers:
"The newspaper route was good for me, helping me to meet people ... and to have almost everything that I wanted to have due to being able to have the money to purchase it."
In a later journal entry Brian wrote about the difficulty he had getting up in the morning — and the invention it inspired.
"I contrived a contraption that would wind a string up on a spool which in turn pulled a knife switch that would ring a bell until I got up to turn it off," he wrote. "The alarm clock was the power to set this in motion."
Practice made perfect, and over time, as Kelly recalled, his father needed no such contraptions.
"The truck (with the newspapers) would come into Vernal about 3 a.m. And when it came, it would wake Dad up," Kelly said. "And if for some reason it didn't come, it would wake him up anyway. He would know that truck was late. It was just his whole focus."
Every one of Kelly's brothers and sisters delivered newspapers in Vernal — and almost every one of Brian O'Neil's grandkids have delivered newspapers.
All over northeastern Utah, you'll find men, many now in their 40s, 50s and 60s, who delivered papers for Brian O'Neil when they were teenagers. Many were there to pay their respects at last Saturday's funeral.
But the times, they are changing. Most newspapers are delivered now by adults in automobiles — and many more are delivered through cyberspace on a newfangled invention called the Internet.
No delivery boys — or men — required.
It makes the passing of good men the likes of C. Brian O'Neil all the more nostalgic. As Arlen Peacock, an executive of the Newspaper Agency Corporation who was O'Neil's supervisor back in the day, observed, "He helped a lot of young men become good citizens."

1. DID YOU DATE SOMEONE FROM YOUR SCHOOL? Actually I never did. I guys when I dated Roylin Bradley he was from my school but he had graduated.
2. WHAT KIND OF CAR DID YOU DRIVE? I drove a 1985 Honda accord. What can I say? Hondas are great cars.
3. DID YOU PASS YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE TEST ON THE FIRST TRY? Yes I sure did. But I have to disclose that when I moved to Idaho and had to take the test again, I failed the first time then I studied and got every answer right the next time.

5. WERE YOU CONSIDERED A FLIRT? I guess. I never really felt like I dated around so I can't say I flirted a lot

North Pole Express

I bet there aren't many of you that have been to the North Pole. Well Guess what... We have! There isn't any snow yet. It's been a weird year even for Santa. Rudolph may not have a job to do this Christmas. Well the train ride wasn't too long. You know Santa gets around quick so you'd figure the ride to the North Pole couldn't be too long. There was caroling and cookies and milk. I don't think it could have been more festive! Well snow would have helped but even then Michaella, Grandma, Papa and I had a Holly Jolly time!

Disney on Ice

This weekend we had the chance to go to Disney on Ice with our Ballet friends Shaydynn and Angie(Mom). We did dinner and then we sat at our awesome 2nd row seats. We couldn't have had a better time. Michaella said that Belle was her favorite part. It is so great to have children it allows us to be kids again. I sang along the whole time. What a wonderful part Walt Disney has played in each of our lives!

Civic Duty

This morning after much personal consideration I decided to vote. My biggest hold back was that I didn't know which candidate would most represent my concerns. Although I was still undecided up until the point I took out my pen to cast my vote, I knew it was my civic duty to vote. Voting gives all Americans a voice in the democratic process, a chance to weigh in on the important issues facing this country and the opportunity to elect the people they believe will safeguard their best interests. If I didn't vote I 'd have no voice to complain when I don't like the turn out.

Another sense of duty came from feeling I should set an example and teach my offspring the importance of being and American. So I offered the chance to my young American and she jumped on the offer to go with Mommy to vote.

So at the last minute I steered my car towards Precinct #13 voting headquarters. During our 45 minute wait in line and a lot of confusion I did try to get my 4 year old to make the decision for me but she was really torn between Barack Obama and John McCain. You'd be surprised how informed she is. But that said I made my choice (eeny-meeny-miney-mo) and with my ballot in hand I handed over my decision.

At this time I began to walk away and my 4 year old started crying. "Mommy, when do we get to go on the boat?"

Halloween

As most of you know Halloween in our house is not just Halloween. It is also Michael's Birthday. So we have had a fun filled week of goblins and ghosts and growing older.

We did Pumpkins on Wednesday, did Birthday cupcakes on Thursday and of course went trick or treating on Friday.

Michaella is Hannah Montana. And really if you couldn't figure that one out you must be living in a cave. :) We went around the neighborhood with Olivia and her Mom Amber, they are our newest neightbors and Michaella plays with Olivia almost every day. Michael unfortunately spent his 31st birthday in bed with strep.

Michael felt much better today and decided that it was important that he push it and go hunting (what can I say he loves hunting). Anywho... it was worth it. After years and years of hunting he got his first tagged bird.
(Check out the picture this is a very vary rare event....Michael is actually smiling! )

This weekend my parents came into town. It was so nice because we haven't seen them in months. They came in Thursday afternoon and surprised Michaella at daycare. She had no idea and she loved the surprise.

Friday I went ahead and went to work for the first half of the day. Around 10 I get a phone call from home. It is my Mother and she is calling to inform me that there has been an incident. Michaella and Grandma were playing piggyback and when Grandma went to put her down she heard a pop and Michaella now won't stop crying and she won't move her arm. So after a few minutes on the phone with Michaella and her conceding that she couldn't even go to the pumpkin patch because her arm hurt too bad I went ahead and left to access the situation. I decided to take her into the Doctor. After about an hour + in the waiting room with the orneriest 4 year old you've ever encountered we got into the Dr and found out she had gotten "Nursemaid Elbow" which is a dislocation of the elbow. Michaella's seemed to pop itself back in. They still did an x-ray to make sure there wasn't any fracture and also splinted the arm to be safe. So here is the photo diary of the experience. We go back in on Monday to double check with her Doctor, but I'm pretty sure she'll take the splint off. Michaella has loved the attention all weekend. She'll show off her cast to any one who will look. Way to go Grandma you gave her something to remember! (Michaella tells people her Grandma twisted her arm....nice huh?)

Okay he really isn't too pleased with me. He didn't mind the first sweater but this 2nd one doesn't fit as well and I think I pee-peed him right off. He isn't talking to me.

FYI it is supped to be a skull and cross bones. I don't like the way it turned out. I'm going to see what else I can do.

This is how you vacuum and do house work and you don't have to worry about running over the puppy.

Yes it is true. I have found my calling. I am ridiculous and I love it.

Now Winston is just a trite little thing. He has no meat on his teeny little bones. So Mama to the rescue..I crocheted him a sweater! But not just any little sweater it even has "gumballs" on it. The poor little guy.. he is going to be fashion forward if he likes it or not. I've also downloaded a pattern for a skull & crossbones sweater! Move over Tim Gunn!

On the topic of Crocheting, I've been inspired by many of you to be more crafty. So a couple weeks ago I bought a how to crochet book (although I was taught some simple crochets last winter) and I've been giving a few things a try. I started out with a pattern for an infant hat and tried to adjust the stitches and it just didn't work. I ended up unraveling it and trying again but before I did that I went on line and found a pattern for a granny hat and I did this...It ended up a bit big for Michaella so I definitely want to try it again. I messed up some of the stitches that are hidden in the back. After that almost success I unraveled the other hat and I decided to try again. I did it with a slightly different pattern. After I finished the hat I decided to update the scarf which was actually my first crochet project ever. So I added the brown stitching around it and added a flower to match the hat. Michaella has a brown and pink jacket that this matches wonderfully.Right now I am in the middle of a blanket. It is 63 different squares that have all different designs. I have done 8 or 9 of the 63.... I have a ways to go. But when I'm done I will post pictures.

We've added to the Family. Okay well I did and I every so gently talked Mike into it also. Friday I came home with 1 more,Yes 1 more dog. I kept telling Michaella that he was going to kill me she told people that I was going to get fired. As many of you are asking yourself...how did Mike react? Well he reacted perty much how you would think he would react... not happy. I think there were certain comments about the other dogs eating the new one, perhaps he would disappear. But I know Mike and I know he loves dogs as much as I do so I knew it would just take time. The exact time was about 1/2 hour and then all of a sudden he wanted the new little guy to lay with him and cuddle. But as much as he doesn't show he isn't happy he vocalizes it as much as possible. But actions speak louder than words! :) So every one... Meet Winston. Winston is a "Designer Dog" or a "hybrid dog" He is called a Chion or a Chi-a-Pap or a Paphuahua. (Chihuahua x Papillion) Michael calls him a mutt and an ankle biter. What ever you would like to call him but I call him Adorable! He is my baby. And I can't wait to cart him around in my bag and look ridiculous! (or just you watch Mike will be the one carting him around)

I have to tell everyone about an awesome website. It's thedailyplate.com. My mom told me about it and so far it is the most awesome motivator. Everyday you can update exactly what you ate and it will help you calculate how many calories you are eating and how many you burned. It's super because you can just type in exactly what you ate and it will calculate. Like I could say I have a can of Campbell's Select Harvest Minestrone and I had 2 servings (Because it is 2 servings a can you have to watch that) and it will calculate your complete nutritional info (ie calories, fat, cholesterol sodium carbs sugars fiber protein) and the percentage of daily value based on your weight and what your goals are. You then also calculate the calories burned by looking up your type of exercise and quantity of time (ie Kickboxing for 60 minutes). They go into great specifics like how many calories you'd burn in an hour folding clothes or putting on makeup. Its crazy.

Now I've tried uploading a snapshot picture of what it looks like but I'm having technical troubles to the likes of which I've never had trouble before. Therefore I am giving up on the picture...sorry if you are curious enough you will go check it out yourself. It's worth it!

Hi,

It's been awhile. So here's a little update. Sorry I don't have any pictures. My battery has been dead on my camera for about a month and I've been too lazy to plug it in the charger, I know it's terrible. I'll work on it.

Well I'll start off with the Nutrisystem. After a month of being on it and not losing any weight I started to get frustrated. Mainly because it just didn't seem worth it. I'm about to indulge you all with a little TMI but I have too for you to understand why it wasn't worth it. So here it it... The Nutrisystem made me so flippin gassy. Mike was really kinda pissed at me. I guess I'd fart in my sleep and he was kinda grossed out. So all of this constant gassy feeling bloating and not all that desirable food that was slightly expensive, I've decided to kick it and go back to my self made diet that has worked in the past.

But I found out there was another reason I wasn't losing any weight. I have been really tired for the last few months. I thought well I'm just not getting enough sleep, I'm exercising a lot and so on. I'd tell Mike every morning when I woke up... Dude I need to get to bed earlier. (FYI He hates it when I call him Dude) But then it started to get worse and worse. Morning after morning I'd scare myself driving on the freeway because I was SO tired I could literally dose off if I blinked. So I'd hold my eyes open as much as I could and slowly my vision would get blurry, the eyelids would get heavier and heavier and my head would get cloudy. Remember that feeling sitting in church when you'd be so tired and your head would start bobbing? Just take that times 10. I tried everything... slapping myself, caffeine, getting more sleep and nothing helped. (Can you imagine how hard you'd laugh if you looked over on the freeway and saw some ditsy blonde slapping her self?)

So I made an appointment with my Doctor. Mike was convinced I was being a hypochondriac. But a couple blood tests later and I find out I'm hypothordic. Which means my Thyroid doesn't excrete enough of the thyroid hormone. Side effects being really tired and weight gain. So I'm on thyroid meds for most likely the rest of my life. That part isn't cool, but knowing the weight gain had nothing to do with just me being a cookieaholic made me feel that much better. It had just not made sense that I had been going to the gym 5 times a week and I had gained almost 15 lbs in 5 months. So that's all I have to say about that.

Michaella has started back up with dance lessons and she has also decided that she is pretty much Hannah Montana. I'm sure the rest of you mothers with little girls understand the Hannah Montana phenomenon. She has watched the Hannah Montana on tour DVD 4 times in the last 2 days. Michaella has been her alter ego "Dance Star" the whole time. My little girl is ALWAYS singing and dancing. It is like her life is a Broadway show or Disney Movie. This Hannah Montana deal compounded with Disney princesses and Barbie Diamond Castle/Mariposa/Island Princess (and so on) has only proven to me that my little girl is ALL girl. Not to mention she has also decided she is going to marry the Jonas Brothers and she has also gained an appreciation for the handsome males. We were watching Dancing with the Stars the other night and she informed me that Alec Maso was "HOT". OH am I in trouble or what? She is 4 years old. Not to mention she has added the term "sexy" to her vocabulary. I don't know what to think about that.

The other big thing in our house is that it is now hunting season. And I'm sure those of you Hunter's wives know what I mean. It's all about dead birds in our house right now. Michaella actually gets really excited about it for her Daddy. I just hope he isn't too disappointed when she informs him she doesn't want to go hunting because she might break a nail. I see that coming in the near future.

So ta ta for now my fellow bloggers. I will fight my procrastination and I will plug in my battery on my camera tonight so that I can entertain everyone with my very normal life.

Okay, so today I went straight home because the gym floors are being refinished so they are closed, and Mike & Michaella were out dove hunting... so I had the house to myself. What should I do? I decided to finally upload pictures from my camera. 800 pictures!! Eight hundred freakin pictures. So...I have compiled what I could into the least amount of pictures possible and I have made a slide show of the last month or so and the many things we have done to which I have yet to blog on.

Today Is Mike & My 9th anniversary. I can't believe how fast time flies. This weekend we are going to get a babysitter for the first time. Any other time we've been out we've either gone as a family or family has been able to watch Michaella.
We sure have been through a lot in the last 9 years. But there is very little I would change about it. We have one beautiful wonderful little girl who is the perfect collaboration of Mike and me. We have house and home, we have good jobs and we have each other. What more can you really ask for?

Okay so everyone who has always wondered if Nutrisystem works. No need to longer wonder. I am going to be your human guinea pig. I have ordered my first 28 day supply. It should be interesting. None of the food needs to be refrigerated or frozen so who knows how it tastes. I have been eating lean cuisines for lunch for a long time so I don't mind a little less taste. It isn't as if I'm going from wonderful delish hambugers and other yummy yummy fatty things. So I can assume it would be that big of a let down to my poor taste buds.

West Nile Virus

Just a quick "public service announcement". Michaella had a fever earlier this week and has really been complaining about her head and stomach hurting. I took her into the Doctor on Wednesday and they did a strep culture and checked her urine. Both came back clean. She continued to complain about her head hurting and developed another fever this morning. When talking to the Doctor this morning he feels that she has contracted West Nile. 80% of people who get West Nile do not have any Symptoms. 20% have symptoms like Michaella's which are Skin rash, Headache, Fever, Diarrhea, Nausea , Vomiting , Backache, Muscle aches, Lack of appetite, and Swollen lymph glands. Only 1% have severe symptoms that are caused by swelling of the brain. The only treatment she needs is pain meds and fever reducers like Tylenol. She will most likely have symptoms for a good week.

This is a reminder to all of us parents. Especially because so many of us live by a lake. Remember to protect our kids and remember to put on repellent!!

So the big thing around here in good ol' Nampa, ID during July is the Snake River Stampede Rodeo. They say it is one of the top 10 rodeo's in the nation. And so Every July they have Snake River Days it's a week of all sorts of festivites. It really is a lot of fun. Last year I even ran in the 5k. But every year so far we have gone to the horse parade. It isn't a huge parade, they don't throw out candy, but it is really is th essence of small town America. Here are a few pictures.

I went to California a couple weeks ago for work. It was much easier for me to leave Michaella with Daddy this time than it was a little over a year ago. I was gone for 4 days and they did great. They hung out, Michaella got to stay up late and they even started working on a puzzle. But by the last night Michaella was really missing me. These picutres are from the night I got home. We all went out in the back yard and just laid around. It was a perfect night to be outside in the shade. Michaella took the picture of me. She is a my little Picture Nazi in training. Ahhh she wants to be just like Mommy.

I didn't really get the camera out too much over the Fourth Weekend. But we really had a blast. We really hung out most of the time watching movies and sleeping in. Mike bought a bunch of the "really fun" fireworks so we set off all of those. And Michaella also spent a couple days in her little swimming pool. She just barely learned she could float.
Now I've been taking this girl to swimming lessons since she was like 6 months old. And that girl is just very skittish in the water! She still won't put her face in the water. So perhaps this was a good step in gaining security in the water. I do have her signed up for lessons in a couple weeks. Hopefully I won't have to be one of those embarrassed parents as I have to leave the pool with a screaming 4 year old.

Michaella has also been enjoying tumbling. The teachers name is Nicole and she is one of the directors and she is really awesome with the kids. This is something elase I've been doing with Michaella for a long time. It's been about 2 years now. And in a 4 year olds life that is a long long time!

1. What was I doing 10 years ago? Oh boy I was getting into trouble 10 Years ago that was what I was doing. It was the year before my senior year and I was living life to the fullest. I was working at Sears and Roy Recreation. I have to say that was the craziest best and worst summer of my life. I did a lot of growing up that summer.

Maite`'s Birthday Party

This weekend Michaella went to her little girlfriend's birthday party. She lives clear out in Wilder which is pretty close to the middle of no where... and it was beautiful. There was another slippy slide and the kids had a blast. I had already decided to do that for Michaella's birthday before the last 2 parties, so I'm glad she has had so much fun. So after numerous threats to cut her hair if she continued to scream like a banshee when I combed her hair Michaella finally decided on her own that she wanted her hair cut short. The only obstacle was Daddy. I told her SHE was going to have to tell Daddy she wanted to cut her hair because there was no way he was going to let me make that decision.

Now usually Mike says something like"Michaella purple is pretty but I like red nail polish better" and from that point on she will only chose red nail polish because "that is what Daddy likes". So when it came to talking Mike into cutting her hair I figured this would be the same outcome... But no she held her ground. Even with Daddy telling her that he LOVED her hair long and it made her as beautiful as a princess, she would not falter. That girl had made up her mind. And this is how it turned out!

Fathers Day

For Fathers Day on Sunday we went and did the Mike thing...we went fishing. Mike even got Michaella her own fishing rod which she was totally stoked about. Too bad we didn't catch anything, the river was just a bit too high and too fast. Oh well it was an absolutely beautiful day and the weather was perfect and we all had a great time and a wonderful Father's Day for a wonderful Daddy.

Saturday Michaella had her year end party that her Dance teacher throws. Miss Amber really is an awesome teacher. The kids had a blast. It took Michaella about an hour and 3 dry runs to finally gather up the courage to go down the slip and slide but once she figured it out she was hooked!

Now I always exercise and I ran all last summer but lately I've been doing the gym classes. And I've been feeling like a total stud going to the gym 4+ nights a week and for at least an hour a night. All this time away and Mike thinks I must have a boyfriend at the gym. So last night with it being a beautiful wonderful perfect 67 degrees I decided I was going to keep the workout close to home and go running outside.... It was a total bummer! About a mile into it I was in some serious pain. I really tried to work through it but I couldn't do it. Hello I'm 27 I'm in great shape, I shouldn't be limping down the street. But I had a good idea where the pain was coming from.

I have a really high arch and being the stingy frugal mom that I am when I bought my newest pair of shoes I thought I'd save a buck and not get new insoles. In fact I was just going to get that pair out of my even older pair and through those in. Bad idea. So last night right after my run I find myself at Joe's Sporting Goods buying myself a pair of Orthodic Arch Supports. Just the name screams geriatric!

What happened to those days when I didn't even know what a sore muscle felt like? And why didn't I take advantage of those days to be in the best shape possible? Why did I wait until my late 20s to realize that I was going to have to actually work to not be a fat lard? I'm constantly in pain. Exercising is like self mutilation and yet I'm totally addicted.

Okay. So Mike had another surgery yesterday to remove the stent and remove the very last kidney stone. I thought once I heard that it was all over. But alas, this morning we ended up at the emergency room because Mike was having spasms where the stent was removed. So short and sweet my question to you all is....Is it over Yet?

Here's a little email I thought I'd share because it deserves a giggle..

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. 'Why?' my daughter asked. 'Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs' I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, 'Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart.' I was thinking quickly. 'All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom.' We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. 'OH...I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad. ''Exactly'. I replied back with a big smile on my face.

Another surgery

Oh lucky Mike. He has another surgery next Wednesday. We go in to have the stent removed today only to find out they were not going to remove it. The Doctor neglected to tell me after Mike got out of surgery the first time that they were going to have to go back in because there was another kidney stone stuck on the other side and they put the stent in because it was so inflamed it was almost swollen shut. I'm a little frustrated and confused as to why we weren't informed of this right away. It makes we wonder if going back in could be some medical mistake. That would just be our luck wouldn't it?

Okay one kidney stone is out we still have 2 more to go. Everything went well yesterday. They broke up the one big stone that was stuck on the right side. On the other side where the majority of the pain is, they placed a stent. This will allow the other 2 kidney stones to pass easier. He is in a lot of pain. Urine is salt water and the big one cut him up a bit. So salt water and wounds...ouch. Also the act of urinating is also very painful especially with the stent in . He feels the need to pee frequently and often there is nothing there. With the stent the bladder thinks that it is not empty so at the end of every pee he gets a sharp pain because there is nothing there to really get rid of.
He is on a lot of pain meds...yeah for me and hopefully soon this will all be over. He goes back in on the 6th to get the stent removed. He is not looking forward to that.

Quick Mike update

Well we have finally found out why Mike is still sick. He has a massive kidney stone stuck in his ureter. It's a 5 mm stone and the ureter is about 3mm. So the wonderful kidney stone has wreaked havoc on his ureter. Enough so that they have to put a ureteral stent in. Michaella says that "Daddy has a big rock stuck in his little pee pee." I think this is the only time in his life that he will allow his pee pee to be described as little :).
So tomorrow he goes in for surgery at 2. They will go in and break up the stone with the ultrasound and they will place the stent. All of this will happen while he is asleep. Then a couple days later they will go and pull the stent out. This will happen while he is awake. He is not amused by the idea of being awake.
I am so glad that it is just a kidney stone and nothing more. There were times we worried it was cancer. So yeah for that. But not to say that this kidney stone is not painful. He is hopped up on drugs constantly and is nauseous for the pain. I really do feel for him and I am so excited to get it out so that he can be comfortable again.

I just want to quickly post a blog about this blog thing. I love to get to work every morning and waste company time reading everyone's blog. It is so fun to be able to have a sense of what everyone is doing and how everyone is doing. I can catch up with old friends and I can keep up with my family. It really is a blessing to be able to use the resources we have to stay in contact with the people we love. I don't have to feel like I'm hundreds of miles away from everyone.

A little update

Okay I figure I should send a little update. Mike is doing well he goes into the urologist on Monday to do the scope thing up his wee wee. Needless to say he is not excited.

We've all had our round of sickness the last couple weeks. Michaella had strep last week and was out for 2 days and then I caught some viral upper respiratory infection and I was out for 2 days this week. So I'm pretty much out of sick time this year. Lets hope none of us get sick until 2009.

We have given to go ahead on our basement so that is now our big project for the next couple months. It is kind of exciting! Although I do not look forward to all the extra space to clean! not to mention 2 more toilets.

I've been meaning to get some Easter pics up but for some reason I can't manage to remember to do it when I get home. I will try to remember soon. well toot a loo for now I will update when I know anything more about Mike.

My not so little girl

So I don't have any real updates on Michael but I wanted to share a little about Michaella.
I have always said I got real lucky with Michaella. We have managed to come nearly 4 years with a very well behaved little girl. WELL she is bound and determined to prove us otherwise now!
I don't know if this is a phase or real colors coming through but Michaella can be a real brat lately. She is now one of those kids that runs around the store screaming hiding underneath the clothes and I'm that Mom that keeps barking "Michaella stop it! Michaella Come here right now. Kaella , Kaella, Michaella!" Or this little girl that loved dance lessons and acted like the star of the show at the last recital now has decided she doesn't like it. So she digs her heals in when she is supposed to go into class and when I finally shove her in there she sit in the middle of the room and pouts or cries. So THEN I'm that Mommy that starts bribing and when that doesn't work I start threatening "Michaella we can go and buy you a new toy if you go in and be a big girl. Kae we can go and get some ice cream. Kaella Grandma and Papa are coming next week and I'll have to call them and tell them not to come. Michaella I'm going to have to take your Barbies away!"
At home she's mouthy and bossy. She even has that bratty tone in her voice. Saturday she ended up being sent to a nap with both her Barbies and her Teddy Bear taken away. After about an hour she comes out of her room with full dramatics stretching her arms and yawning "Good Morning Mommy! That was a long nap!" I was thinking oh how cute. So I started to make her lunch and while I was getting something out of the pantry she says something about playing with her Princesses and all of a sudden she stops. I look at her and ask her if she even took a nap. She looked at her feet and said No. Then I asked her if she lied to me and she confessed "yes". I was blown away at the specifics and how much she thought out that lie. She threw in full dramatics too! She is almost 4 and she has become an expert liar! It wasn't just a did you write on the walls , NO kind of lie. It was "hmmm if I want out of here I have to had taken a nap so I have to act like I took a nap" kind of lie.
Anyway. She's still on restriction from her Barbies but she did get her Teddy back. I truly hope this is just a phase.

Well the weekend went pretty well. Saturday Mike passed one of the stones with very little pain. And Sunday he really started to feel better. He is still very tired but he thinks the infection is starting to go away! YEAH! We still are not out of the woods yet but this is a really good step in the right direction.

Well to make matters worse Mike got some test results in this morning that aren't great. He either has a prostate infection or a slim chance of prostate cancer. The Dr put him on 2 more weeks of antibiotics and flomax which I guess help shrink the prostate. Mike has been having troubles urinating and come to find out this is why. The Dr informed him that if he goes 4 hrs with out being able to go we need to go to the emergency room so they can insert a catheter so that his bladder doesn't explode. This is a pretty serious situation. In fact kidney stones comes in second to this. They can't really do any further testing until they get the infection under control and Mike is healthy. Who knows how long that will be. I know this is the last thing I should be worried about but our trip to Mexico is in 4 weeks. I'm feeling kinda down wondering why this has to be happening now. Or why is this happening at all?
