Okay I need a poll... What does everyone think of this hat? I'm a bit of a hat person and I purchased this hat. I am having buyers remorse. Let's just say I'm not sure if it was worth it.

West Nile Virus

Friday, July 25, 2008

Just a quick "public service announcement". Michaella had a fever earlier this week and has really been complaining about her head and stomach hurting. I took her into the Doctor on Wednesday and they did a strep culture and checked her urine. Both came back clean. She continued to complain about her head hurting and developed another fever this morning. When talking to the Doctor this morning he feels that she has contracted West Nile. 80% of people who get West Nile do not have any Symptoms. 20% have symptoms like Michaella's which are Skin rash, Headache, Fever, Diarrhea, Nausea , Vomiting , Backache, Muscle aches, Lack of appetite, and Swollen lymph glands. Only 1% have severe symptoms that are caused by swelling of the brain. The only treatment she needs is pain meds and fever reducers like Tylenol. She will most likely have symptoms for a good week.

This is a reminder to all of us parents. Especially because so many of us live by a lake. Remember to protect our kids and remember to put on repellent!!

Happy Birthday Baby!

RODEO! YEE HAW!

Yeah for the Snake River Stampede Rodeo. We went and sat at the seats we get from my company for helping sponsor the event. Just Kae and I went but we had a blast. She loved the clowns and the Rodeo Princesses.... of course.

Rodeo Time!

Thursday, July 17, 2008

So the big thing around here in good ol' Nampa, ID during July is the Snake River Stampede Rodeo. They say it is one of the top 10 rodeo's in the nation. And so Every July they have Snake River Days it's a week of all sorts of festivites. It really is a lot of fun. Last year I even ran in the 5k. But every year so far we have gone to the horse parade. It isn't a huge parade, they don't throw out candy, but it is really is th essence of small town America. Here are a few pictures.

Photo update

Okay so I haven't cleaned out the good ol' camera in a little while so I made that my duty tonight. So it is going to be a total modge-podge of pictures. So I will give a short description to give you some idea of what like has been like the last few weeks.

I went to California a couple weeks ago for work. It was much easier for me to leave Michaella with Daddy this time than it was a little over a year ago. I was gone for 4 days and they did great. They hung out, Michaella got to stay up late and they even started working on a puzzle. But by the last night Michaella was really missing me. These picutres are from the night I got home. We all went out in the back yard and just laid around. It was a perfect night to be outside in the shade. Michaella took the picture of me. She is a my little Picture Nazi in training. Ahhh she wants to be just like Mommy.

I didn't really get the camera out too much over the Fourth Weekend. But we really had a blast. We really hung out most of the time watching movies and sleeping in. Mike bought a bunch of the "really fun" fireworks so we set off all of those. And Michaella also spent a couple days in her little swimming pool. She just barely learned she could float.
Now I've been taking this girl to swimming lessons since she was like 6 months old. And that girl is just very skittish in the water! She still won't put her face in the water. So perhaps this was a good step in gaining security in the water. I do have her signed up for lessons in a couple weeks. Hopefully I won't have to be one of those embarrassed parents as I have to leave the pool with a screaming 4 year old.

Michaella has really been into these stick on tattoos lately. Here is a picture of her latest. As you can see she is one tough chick! Takes after her Mom I'm sure. As you can clearly see!

Michaella has also been enjoying tumbling. The teachers name is Nicole and she is one of the directors and she is really awesome with the kids. This is something elase I've been doing with Michaella for a long time. It's been about 2 years now. And in a 4 year olds life that is a long long time!

And Last but not least this is Michaella's Birthday Invitation. It's going to be fun! I wish we were closer to home so that everyone from Utah could come. That is next weekend and of course I will be posting many more pictures.
By the way it says....
You're invited to a Splish Splash Bash. Come get soaked! We'll Splash and Play as we celebrate Michaella's 4th birthday! You bring your swimming suit, we'll have the cake. It will be such a blast! Please save the date.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago? Oh boy I was getting into trouble 10 Years ago that was what I was doing. It was the year before my senior year and I was living life to the fullest. I was working at Sears and Roy Recreation. I have to say that was the craziest best and worst summer of my life. I did a lot of growing up that summer.

2. What was on my to-do list for today?
Work. Yeah that is about it. Maybe throw in a couple meals and some sleep that is about it.

3. What would I do if I suddenly became a billionaire? Vacation and be an at home mom. I'd be a member of the PTA, I'd do crafts and sew and all of those wonderful Mommy things I don't have time for now.

4. 3 Bad habits...
1. I procrastinate. BAD
2. I procrastinate. It deserves two spots.
3. OH heck it deserves three spots. Everyone of my bad habits stems back to procrastination. I wait until Sunday night to do Laundry. I run late a lot. I wait until the last moment to do everything. That is the only way I get anything done.

5. Places I have lived..... Idaho Falls, ID Roy, UT West Point, UT Layton , UT Nampa, ID

6. Places I have worked... Post Register (Paper Girl), Lagoon, Taco Time, Shop-ko, Sears, Roy Recreation, Teltrust, Robin Todd, United Road Service, Spider Transport, And Design Space Modular Buildings.

7. 3 Things people don't know about me....
1. I used to clog when I was a tween
2. I want to be a kickboxing instructor
3. I have had 18 moles removed. I have to get a LOT of moles removed. Even the Doctor will say WHOA you have a lot of moles. I used to get teased about them a lot. I used to be Mrs Mole. Very traumatic for a kid. But now I just consider myself a human Chocolate chip cookie. Or perhaps a connect the dot picture.
